On October 29, the world of Opera lost one of the greatest and most beloved Opera singers, the great American Bass-Baritone John Del Carlo who saddly passed away at age 65.
John del Carlo performed more than 300 performances at The Met, one of his most unforgettable was his wonderful performance as the title role of Don Pasquale, which was broadcast on HD on 2011.
John del Carlo’s final performances at the Met was in the roles of Benoit and Alcindoro in Puccini’s La Bohème in this past 2015-2016 season.
Thank you, John del Carlo for your many wonderful performances and for the many joys that you gave us in so many operas like “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”, “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “Die Fledermaus”…. so many.
Rest in peace, John del Carlo. We will never forget you.
