Today Mexico celebrated the opening day of the international Book Fair 2014, in Guadalajara, Mexico. The International Book Fair in Guadalajara is one of the three most important book fairs in the entire world, along with the international Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany.
Argentina is the guest of honor country in this year and Great Britain will be the guest of honor country next year.
Many important Argentinian writers will be present at this year’s international book fair in Guadalajara.
In this year’s book Fair, there are going to be many important tributes to Mexico’s Octavio Paz, Efrain Huerta, Jose Revueltas and Argentina’s Julio Cortázar, Juan Gelman and Jorge Luis Borges.
Italian writer Claudio Magris received the FIL Literature Award in Romances Languages, today at the opening ceremony event.
Last year’s winner was Yves Bonnefoy.
The International Book Fair in Guadalajara is one of the most important cultural events in Mexico, along with the International Cervantino Festival.
