From Russia with Love, 50th Anniversary

2013 is coming to an end and we are still conmemorating many anniversaries.

Now we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of “From Russia with Love”, the second of the James Bond movies and starring Sean Connery, Robert Shaw, Pedro Armendáriz, Lotte Lenya, Bernard Lee and Daniela Bianchi.

Released in 1963, the film was produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman, and directed by Terence Young. It is based on the 1957 novel of the same name by Ian Fleming. In the film, James Bond is sent to assist in the defection of Soviet consulate clerk Tatiana Romanova in Turkey, where SPECTRE plans to avenge Bond’s killing of Dr. No.

In my opinion, Robert Shaw as Red Grant is the greatest Bond Villain of all Bond films.  The best Bond villain ever!

From Russia with Love is my favorite Bond film.

Trivia: This was Sean Connery’s second film as James Bond.
